Methods for Error Code 30103–11 in MS Office Installation

When your effort to install MS Office fails, an error message usually tries to explain the cause. There are many details that could cause the error code 30103-11. Usually, error persists due to the corruption of system files or due to the previous installation files not eliminated properly.

Steps to fix MS office error code 30103-11

When you install MS Office from the official website of  office.com/setup, you may see error code 30103-11 if a previous installation of the MS Office is failed. Here are some things you can try to fix error code 30103-11.

Common reasons for error code 30103-11

  • Firewall or Antivirus software might be blocking the MS Office installation.
  • Proxy settings or Internet Connection are preventing from installing MS Office.
  • Pre-existing version of an MS Office suite is blocking the installation.
  • Partial/Incomplete/failed/repair/removal/change of a previous MS Office suite can avoid installing a newer version.

Steps are given below to troubleshoot the error code 30103-11

Repair your MS office app

  • Go to the Start button and open the control panel
  • Click on the option of Programs and choose Programs and Features.
  • Click on the MS Office product which you want to repair.
  • Click on the option of Change.
  • Choose Quick Repair and click on the option of Repair.

If Quick Repair didn’t fix the error code 30103-11, Choose the Online Repair and click on Repair.

Eliminate MS office

  • Go to the Start button and choose the option of Control Panel
  • Click on the option of Programs and choose Programs and Features.
  • Choose MS Office Suite and click on the option of Remove

Steps to remove MS Office manually to resolve the error code 30103-11

Step 1: Eliminate the Windows Installer packages

  • Find the MS Office installation folder which is typically located in C:\Program Files\.
  • Right-click on the Microsoft Office folder and choose the option of date

Step 2: Eliminate the MS office scheduled tasks

  • Go to the Command Prompt window as an administrator.
  • At the command prompt, type the following commands and click on the option of  Enter after each one:

schtasks.exe /delete /tn “\Microsoft\Office\Office Automatic Updates”

schtasks.exe /delete /tn “\Microsoft\Office\Office Subscription Maintenance”

schtasks.exe /delete /tn “\Microsoft\Office\Office ClickToRun Service Monitor”

Step 3: Use Task Manager to end the tasks of Click-to-Run

  • Go to the Task Manager.
  • Click on the Process tab
  • If the following processes are running, have a right-click on each one, and then click on the End task after you choose a process

Step 4: Delete the MS Office files

  • Click on the option of Windows logo key + R to open the Rundialog box.
  • In the Open box, enter %ProgramFiles%, and then click on OK button.
  • Delete the folder of MS office
  • Open the Rundialog box, and  type %ProgramFiles(x86)%, and then click on the OK button

Step 5: Delete the registry sub keys of MS office

  • Go to the Registry Editor
  • Delete the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppVISV

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

  • Delete the MS Office key.

Step 6: Delete the shortcuts of Start Menu

  • Go to the Command Prompt window as an administrator.
  • Type %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs, and then press Enter.
  • Delete the “Microsoft Office 2016 Tools” folder.

Download and install the MS office

  • Go to the official website of MS office and choose the option of My Account
  • Select the option of Install
  • Click on the RUNor the equivalent depending on the browser you’re using.
  • When you see You’re good to go, click on the All done option
