by Carl Smith Software Developer

If the users want to remove their neighbor’s Wi-Fi network name from the Wi-Fi section of the menu on the PC, then don’t worry, then doing that, in reality, is possible. Additionally, the users can also remove every other Wi-Fi networks, only enabling their system to show and connect to the Wi-Fi that they use on a regular basis.

For instance, if the network name is not suitable for children, then one might want to stop it from appearing in the list of available networks.  Here are the steps to prevent that network name from appearing on any Windows system.

•    Go to the Administrator Command Prompt

  1. To open a Command Prompt window- first, go to the Start section.
  2. And then find for Command Prompt.
  3. After that do a right-click on the Command Prompt shortcut, and press on Run as administrator.

•    The Method of Blocking A Wi-Fi Network

The user can hide each of the networks by putting it to the blacklist. As a result, It will not be shown on the section where available Wi-Fi networks that user can’t work from their Windows.

The user can block networks by replacing ‘WIFI NAME’ with its SSID.

Users need to do this as many times they need for adding networks they want to block from their Wi-Fi listing. However, the users will be able to see if their neighbour modifies their Wi-Fi name as their new name will be showing in their Wi-Fi listing.

To change this setting and put the network name back of their neighbour’s in the Wi-Fi listing, give the order which is given below and also instead of putting ‘WIFI NAME’ put Wi-Fi network name.

•    The Method Of Watching The Filters

The users can use the order which is mentioned above for removing any of the filters that are shown.

It is worth noting that the network manager can use ‘Group Policy’ to make Wi-Fi network filters, supporting them to adjust which Wi-Fi networks can be shown and be used and the selected one that can be blacklisted on centrally administered systems. Hopefully, with the help of this blog, you will be able to block your neighbour’s Wi-Fi network from showing up on your Windows computer. This method works on both laptops and desktops.
