Master batch and the most popular base resin in plastic manufacturing

by Tran Hoa Marketing

In order to meet the increasing demand for master batch, leading manufacturers and experts spend a lot of effort on researching and creating new advanced materials, representatives such as HDPE , MDPE, LDPE and LLDPE are the achievements of that process. EuP hopes that with this article, you will gain the basic information and knowledge about these new resins.

What are the types of HDPE, MDPE, LDPE and LLDPE master batch?

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), MDPE (Medium Density Polyethylene) and LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) are master batch whose main components are PE - Polyethylene based resins. PE master batch are a type of polyolefin - a large group in the polymer world. Besides PE, the other resins of this polyolefin group are poly methyl pentene, poly propylene and poly propylene. Most plastics of this group have a lower specific gravity than water. Significant differences between these masterbatch types of this PE group basically come from the molecular structure of the compound, which in turn affects the way the molecules bind together and the materials stick together tightly like how.

What type of PE master batch are used the most and least?

Between the 4 representatives of PE based plastic, there will be some more used, some less used. First, LDPE is the most popular of the four types of master batch mentioned above because they are very flexible and suitable for many different materials. This type of masterbatch is widely applied in many important fields such as agriculture and construction. However, this type of plastic still has a disadvantage that it is not dense and hard but other plastics. Accordingly they are also prone to puncture and tear under high impact. LLDPE and LDPE groups account for about 35% of total polyolefin production in Western Europe with more than 22 million tons per year.

In contrast to LDPE, MDPE is the least common type of master batch among the four plastic resins. In terms of the physical properties of this product, MDPE masterbatch exhibit hardness, impact resistance, and cracking stress at an average level compared to other types. However, these resins are relatively resistant to and resistant to chemical compounds.
