Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire- Increasing The Popularity Amongst Cars

The number one manufacturer in the automobile segment, Maruti Suzuki, came up with the sedan Swift Dzire. The hatchback of the Swift model from the same company got a redesign in 2008 and the sedan version was launched. The sedan version got a huge success in the market loaded with a lot of features, outstanding looks with high safety standards and lavish interiors. The sedan model got a compact look with a reduction in length making it less than 4 m., which made it a qualifier for benefits on excise duty offered by the Indian Government. The sedan version is offered in three different variants for the diesel model and in four variants for the petrol model.

Engine


The company has provided a choice of two engines in the Maruti Dzire. The 1197cc petrol engine is a K-series engine with Variable Valve Timing technology having 4-cylinders. It gives out the maximum power output of 86bhp at the rate of 6000rpm, with a torque at a maximum value of 114Nm at 4000rpm. The 124cc diesel engine is a DDiS engine with 4-cylinders providing a maximum power of 74bhp at the rate of 4000rpm and the torque has a maximum value of 190Nm at the rate of 2000rpm.


Performance

There is an option of automatic transmission 4-speed gearbox and a manual transmission 5-speed gearbox. The Swift Dzire is fitted with a suspension system of MacPherson struts along with coil springs to the front side and uses torsion-beam along with coil springs to the rear side. This suspension system offers a great mounting firmness and a steadiness to the ride. There are ventilated type disc brakes on the front side, while drum brakes on the rear side. The petrol version with a 5-gear transmission gives a mileage of 16.3-19.1Kmpl, while with the automatic transmission, the mileage is at 13-17.5Kmpl. The diesel model provides a 18.6-23.4Kmpl mileage for the ride.

Interiors

The Maruti Dzire comes with luxurious interior looks with an armrest in the centre, an adjustment system for the height of the seats, AC, sun visor, remote functionality for opening backdoor and fuel lid, cup holder and many other features. The console and the instrument panel contains a speedometer, reminders for seat belts, light-on and key-on, a warning lamp for closing the door and a multipurpose display for fuel, time and distance indicators. The boot space in the sedan model is 316 litres, which is less than the 440 litres of the hatchback version.

Exteriors

The sedan comes with a perfect combination of substance and style along with the superb dynamics of the body and the daring design. The exteriors also contain front and rear fog lamps, bumper of the same color as that of the body, the stop lamp mounted high, and the glass with a green tint providing a splendid look at the car from the outside. The optical mirrors for rear view are integrated with the indicators and the design of the grille at the front and the design of the headlamps provides a classy look to the sedan. The fluent meeting of the boot space to the rear gives a superb finish to it.

Security

The car has been designed with the safety standards kept at the top of the list. There are all the standardized safety equipments present in the car including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) provided with Brake Assist (BA). There is an additional safety tool added, which is Engine Drag Control (EDC). It helps in the prevention from skidding and ensuring a required minimum distance from the other automobiles, when on a slippery road or surface. The firm and the solid body car help in providing a superior level to its handling for a comfortable ride.
