Manipur University was set in accordance with the Manipur University Act of 1980 as a teaching cum affiliating University. The University is located at Canchipur in Imphal city of Manipur state. The University has one constituent college which is named as the Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University provides affiliation to 72 other colleges. In the year 2005, Manipur University was converted into a Central University. It offers various Master Degree Courses, PG Diploma Courses, Under Graduate Courses, Certificate Courses and Ph.D. programmes.
