Main differences between DC and Marvel

by Mike P. Roofing Contractor

We all know about these fantastic comics such as DC and Marvel. These are two most popular developers, and they have fight and war on comic book fans for decades. They still have their moments in movies and TV series.

The central question that we want to ask ourselves is what the real difference between DC and Marvel is. Okay, they are both rich comic book universes with numerous materials, but still, there are some dramatic elements that separate characters and situations from one to another.

Of course, we don’t want to provide you strict and scientific guidelines for each superhero, but still, we are going to present you main differences between these two publishers:

Locations:

The essential thing for each superhero is a world that they are living in. The reason why Justice League and Avengers are fighting to break the evil from their surroundings is that they are trying to keep their city and universe safer place to be.

There are differences in the world of Marvel and DC, especially when it comes to fictional locations. In Marvel, superheroes and good guys are always fighting in cities that we live in that are around us. They are more into realistic approach so that they can show us that even things could happen in front of our doors.

If we set Asgard aside, we see Washington D.C, New York City destroyed and threatened, and not some fictional cities where you can sell old comic books.

On the other hand, DC created their fictional worlds that are based on real cities but with their different surroundings and settings. Gotham and Metropolis are fictional places filled with its defenders, while Central City is the place where Flash is running around. This gives the possibility for the character to exist outside of reality.

The Powers

The significant plot element in almost every comic book is how superhero deals with his powers. In Marvel movies and comics, controls are always treated like curse or form altering things for a man that consider it as a burden for responsibilities, such as Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
