Do you remember some of the things you believed when you were very young? Some of them were probably quite foolish. If you look closer at certain “foolish” childhood beliefs, you will find insights for personal growth.

Fairy tales tell of magic wands with powers to turn pumpkins into carriages, toads into princes and rags into riches. As a child, you may have believed in magic wands. Look closer. Think about it. You don’t need magic. You already have it. With every decision you make and every action you take, you conjure your own magic. You have great power. We all do.

Superheroes have superpowers. Did you ever dream of having your very own superpowers? Many superheroes were shaped by misfortune. Spiderman was bit by a radioactive spider. Batman witnessed the murder of his parents. It is true that “the strongest steel goes through the hottest fire”. You’ve experienced sorrows which have strengthened your character and compassion for others. Isn’t that what being a superhero is all about — strength and compassion?

Some children fear monsters under the bed or in the closet. As an adult, you no longer fear monsters. But you may fear the unknown or fear failure. These fears are as illogical as fears of monsters. Illogical fears can interfere with your magic wand powers and your superpowers.

Discover your powers and quit believing in monsters under your bed! Live your life with more happiness, strength and courage.
