The Success Timeline:

From its iconic monogrammed bags to its opinion-changing ready-to-wear collections. For decades now, Louis Vuitton has managed to influence millions as one of the world’s most sought-after fashion brands. Inspiring a lot of devoted fans, leading investment-level prices at auction, and gaining a genuine pack of celebrity ambassadors, is how Louis Vuitton reached stratospheric lengths.

1854-1864

After gaining experience for 17 years, Louis Vuitton opened his first workshop in 1854. In 1858, he introduced his new flat-to Trianon canvas trunk. It was his first successful product and found a lot of recognition in those times. After that, Louis was able to create a team of 20 people and expanded his business with a site near Paris.

1865-1885

With safety, a primary concern for the company's rich and well-known clients, the invention of an unpickable lock by Louis’ son Georges became an important USP for the business. The lock remains undisputed and it is still used today.

1886-1896

Steps were taken to turn Louis Vuitton into a worldwide brand.  One of the brand’s longest-lasting signatures: the LV monogram canvas was invented. It has now become one of the most famous - and widely copied - designs in the world.

1897-1917

The Louis Vuitton building was opened on the Champs-Élysées which became the world’s most comprehensive travel goods store.

1918-1938

The Keepall and Speedy bags made their debut and became instant and lasting hits. It Marked the brand’s extension from travel into bags for personal use.

1970 -1990

The brand’s push for international expansion continued and, in 1984,  Louis Vuitton became a publicly-traded company. It become one of the powerful forces in luxury retail, controlling 75 brands under 60 subsidiaries in industries traversing fashion, jewelry, wines and spirits, travel, and more.

In the 1990s its online presence began. An E-Commerce Website was made. In the late '90s, American designer Marc Jacobs was appointed as artistic director and created the brand’s first ready-to-wear fashion line for men and women, which was presented in March 1998.

Jacobs also created the band’s first piece of jewelry - a charm bracelet - and began a campaign to enlist some of the world’s biggest stars, including Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Scarlett Johnson, and Jennifer Lopez, as ambassadors.

Post that, till now LV or Louis Vuitton is considered as one of the most luxurious brands in the history of fashion. It has been awarded hundreds of awards and accolades since then.

With the growing success, they have also kept their websites updated. Currently, Louis Vuitton is using a headless eCommerce solution for its website. So, the quality that you see on their website is all due to this solution.
