According to the survey, more than 50% of people had bought scratch cards and about 35% of them invest in buying lottery tickets on a monthly basis. Most of the people surveyed were between the age group of 15 and 17 who wanted to try out their luck at winning huge amounts of money through lotteries. People aged between 25-34 years were found to be mostly gambling online, while the elder lot aged above 50 seemed to be participating in other kinds of gambling both online and offline.

The list of gambling activities in the survey included buying lottery tickets, scratch cards, playing lotteries online, paying at bookmaker’s shop, horse or dog races, casinos etc. The government indicated that this survey was critical in understanding the interests of their people. The government is now working on revising its policies to provide maximum gambling protection to its citizens to make them less vulnerable to traps and false schemes.
