Towards the end of the 10th century, a number of consumer goods ranging from furniture to interior architecture, appliances, packaging were being increasingly endowed with a new look. The new look consisted of changes in carved moldings, plush fabrics; the detailed decorations of Victorian domestic objects. The intricate designs of Victorian-era were being met with profuse rejection because these objects were being considered as the breeding grounds for germs and microbial activities. Their objects were also being rejected because it was being thought to be a place of dust accumulate. With regards to kitchen cabinet design, this change gave way to flush surfaces, round edges, and construction with non-porous materials. This did away with and acquiring a new form of expression was being termed as the process of elimination.

The process of elimination, evident in most of the products consumed by us or prevalent in our society was mirroring the streamline style of the 1930s. It was known as the extreme expression of a teardrop. This type of expression was adapted from aerodynamics. These were being applied across am innumerable immobile objects which ranged from industrial design to kitchen cabinet design. Speed whiskers along with bulbous forms with tapered ends were being used to generate rapid movement.

The nuts and bolts, as well as the gear and shaft expression of the industrial revolution, were being rapidly replaced with a new construct of the being a continuum. In other words, the objects were being designs to be continuous with an organic body. Since the jagged, rough, industrial expression was being fervently rejected, the all the moving parts are being hidden behind a seamless shell. The kitchen cabinets wholesale markets all over the word were being increasingly endorsing kitchen cabinet design.

The same period was obsessed with two kinds of consumptions Viz. bodily consumption and economic consumption. This obsession influenced fluid modeling of streamlined forms. Modern America’s concerted focus on waste was one of the causative agents of streamlining of consumables. Streamlining gave rise to a surreal merger of the organic and the mechanical. Kitchen cabinet design embraced the material celebration of natural and cultural celebration.
