Kickboxing for Fun and Fitness

and more people are joining martial arts gyms to get in shape, and there’s a few
reasons for that. If you’ve ever watched MMA fighters, these guys are in great
physical shape and they are ripped. Most of them practice Kickboxing/Muay Thai.
If you’re someone who would like to break out of the monotony of traditional
workouts, and want something that is fun, that will engage every part of your
body, then Kickboxing might be for you.
Why
Kickboxing?
Kickboxing
training is an intense full body workout, that incorporates high intensity
interval training, explosive plyometric exercises, and strength training all in
one. Here’s a few reasons why you should do kickboxing:
1) It engages the whole body.
Contrary to popular belief, kickboxing is not just about throwing punches and
kicks it activates the entire body. The power of a kick and a punch starts from
the ground up, you must have strong legs and a strong core to throw a powerful
punch as well as a powerful. Kickboxing training activates muscles that often
get neglected in traditional workouts. kickboxing trains
cardiovascular strength and endurance more effectively than most of the
workouts available today. It has the power to condition the body into being
more energy efficient. Take one look at the body of a professional fighter, and
you’ll see an incredibly lean and cut athlete that is in prime condition.
2) Burn fat and build lean
muscle. After a few sessions, you’ll notice incredible weight loss. Each
one-hour session in kickboxing can burn up to 1,000 calories. That’s a huge
amount, and combine that with proper diet, it can really have a positive effect
on your physique.
3) It’s a fun workout. We are
creatures of habit and exercising is no exception to that fact. We can fall
into a workout routine very easily, after a while we stop getting the results
we want, and eventually it gets boring. That’s why I love South Beach Boxing so
much they have this thing called R.I.T.E fitness (Routine Is the Enemy). So,
you never get bored and you’re always getting challenged. Their kickboxing
class is super intense, and their trainers are professional trainers, and ex
pro fighters. It’s almost like being in a bootcamp the way they drill you, and
the techniques I’ve learned from them have self-defense applications which is
extremely fun for me. It’s probably the best place to get real Kickboxing
training if you live in Miami Beach.
The reality is, most of us
aren’t trying to become the next MMA phenomenon or the next great athlete, but
we do admire their ability and their physique. Specially in our
health-conscious society where everyone wants to look and feel their best, it’s
important to find something that will get you the results you want, and you can
enjoy. I believe that kickboxing is the way to go because it offers something
for everyone.
