Kanika Chandok was born on 21st August in a north Indian town, Lucknow to a traditional hindu family. Her schooling was done in one of the best girls school, Loreto Convent and Modern School and she went on to study Indian classical music. It was her family's wish to raise her in the field of music and literature rather than in a professional field. And much to her advantage she excelled in it. She completed her Masters in Music in Indian Classical Vocal from Bhatkhande Music College (lucknow) at an early age alongside learning the Indian dance form Kathak. moreover she has sung playback for various national TV ( Indian) channels as a child and started singing when she was barely 6 yrs old.

Each piece of fabric is made exclusively and often takes a few months to complete; this particular style of embroidery is the equivalent of Indian haute couture. kanika helps her mother with this. The inspiration behind Kanika's fashion sense is drawn from a range of sources; It is the love for all things beautiful that inspires her. It can be a day spent in an art gallery, a feel of a fabric to even time spent with her own daughter. She won 2 major awards for her debut singer JUGNI JI.
