As the job market continues to bounce back from the 2008 recession, the unemployment rate is a topic on many people’s minds. It seems that every politician running for office promises increasing the number of jobs in some form. One industry that isn’t needing political promises to experience job growth, however, is the solar industry. With so many people getting financing for renewable energy, it is no surprise that jobs are increasing.

A Year of Growth

Anyone looking for work in the renewable energy industry has a lot to be happy about—especially those looking to work in the solar industry. The Solar Foundation reports that “the industry continues to exceed growth expectations, adding workers at a rate nearly 12 times faster than the overall economy and accounting for 1.2 percent of all jobs created in the U.S. over the past year. Our long-term research shows that solar industry employment has grown by 123 percent in the past six years, resulting in nearly 115,000 domestic living-wage jobs.”

What makes this news even more exciting is that because of the relative newness of the industry compared to other energy industries, one can expect the number of renewable energy jobs to continue to grow. More people getting financing for solar power will also prove to be another factor in job growth. With the Solar Foundation predicting a 14.7 percent growth rate for a twelve month period, it is obvious that solar power is becoming the new norm in energy for people across the country.

A Clean Growth

As more and more people become aware of the benefits of solar power and financing, now is the time to get involved. Whether one is looking for a job or looking to invest in something that promises spectacular returns, solar energy has an optimistic future. One will not be disappointed with the promises the future holds for natural and renewable energy.
