Jimmer Fredette selected by Knicks affiliate in D-League draft
Jimmer Fredette is a member of the Westchester Knicks, the New York Knicks' NBA D-League affiliate. Westchester selected the former BYU star No. 2 overall in Saturday's draft, right behind Jeff Ayres, who was taken by the Idaho Stampede.
Fredette, 26, was waived by the San Antonio Spurs before the start of the regular season. This is obviously not where he thought his career was headed when he was drafted No. 10 overall in 2011, but he was never able to produce consistently in the NBA. He will immediately become the biggest name in the D-League.
It'll probably be easy for Fredette to put up scoring numbers in the D-League. If he wants to get back in the NBA, though, he needs to focus on other things. Scouts want to see him improve defensively and become more of a playmaker, as he will have NBA 2k16 coins to buy 2K16 MT be a role player in the NBA.
Other notes: The Iowa Energy selected forwards Perry Jones III and Cartier Martin with the third and fourth picks in the nbamtcoin.com draft, respectively. Journeyman forward Rodney Carney, 31, was taken with the 13th pick by the Oklahoma City Blue.
