JEE Main 2016 All India Rank Will be Release on 24 June

by Chandan Singh Blogger
JEE Main All India Rank 2016 will be announced by Central Board of Secondary Education. All the candidates who participated in the examination will be assigned a rank based on the marks they obtained in the result. Ranking is the definite criteria on which final selection is made in any engineering UG college and course. Ranking will be released in the second stage of result declaration. All the candidates will be arranged in a merit list on the basis of the scores.

Thereafter as per the arrangement, which obviously will be done with prioritizing higher marks in the positioning, candidates will be assigned a rank. Through this algorithm, we can understand that the highest scorer candidate will be assigned AIR 1. Marks for creating the merit list will be calculated as per the process of normalization of scores. The normalization method considers class XII marks and JEE Main 2016 Score in the ratio of 40:60.

To check the result or Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2015 AIR, candidates have to enter their roll number, application number, and date of birth. These details, when submitted, will return with appropriate result, whatever the case maybe. Candidates can check their ranking on 7 July 2015 in online mode only. Rank card or scorecard will not be sent in post or courier unlike before. To check the result or AIR, visit any of the following websites - www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in, www.jeemain.nic.in.

Separate merit lists will be prepared for admission in B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning. Candidates’ JEE Main 2016 All India Rank will be compared by the college admission officials against the respective cutoff for the admission in their institution and the course they have applied for. If the rank of a candidate is lower than the cutoff, he shall be considered for admission otherwise not. It must be remembered that the declaration of All India Rank will also be the declaration of State Rank, State Quota Rank, and All India Quota Rank. A candidate can participate in counselling on the basis of their ranking. Allotment will be done on the basis of ranking.

These rankings will be separately considered in a complex algorithm to grant admissions to the interested and eligible candidates. Link to check the AIR will be hosted on the website of Entrance Corner so that the candidates do not face any hassle of searching the link on the aforementioned websites or the heavy traffic on the date of declaration i.e. 7 July 2015.

Calculation of the Result for Preparation of All India Rank of JEE Main 2016
Merit list
ranking and positioning is done on the basis of normalized score of class XII marks and JEE Main 2015. The following formula is applied to calculate the normalized score:

C = 0.6 A0 + 0.4 Bfinal, where A0 is the marks scored in JEE Main, Bfinal = 0.5 (B1 + B2). B1 is candidate’s JEE Main aggregate marks corresponding to his percentile (P) at the All India level, and B2 is JEE Main aggregate marks corresponding to percentile (P) among the set of aggregate scores obtained in the JEE Main by the students of that board.
