Jakarta’s Latest Employment Figures Released

– Indonesia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased in 2014.
Unaffected from the January 2014 revised rate, and up 2.0 percentage points
from 9.3 percent a year ago.
The
city’s latest rate was the lowest since 2006 when it was 7.0 percent. There
were thousands and thousands jobless
Indonesians
out of a labor force of almost a billion. The country’s unemployment rate was
increased this year.
Jakarta’s
unemployment rate was some points lower than the Indonesia rate and was below
the national rate for the past month.
Jakarta’s
seasonally adjusted total employment was about 8 million this 2014, a decrease
of thousand jobs over some months. As compared to last year, the number of jobs
in the state was down by at least 200,000, a decrease of some percent.
Generally, the number of jobs was down by some percent over the year. Jakarta’s
annual job growth rate has declined since last year.
