Covid-19 has impacted the world; 154 million people (around the globe) have tested positive till 5th April 2021. Where only 91 million people recovered and 3.23 million casualties were reported. Undoubtedly, we all are saddened to hear of such immense losses. 

The Australian Government has made some strict restrictions for travellers. The country’s citizens are already following the Covid precautions as per Government & WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines. The Government imposed a travel exemption Australia application for the outsiders to enter. 

Travel Exemption for International Students Residing Outside the Country

Currently, the country’s borders are closed to prevent the coronavirus. Students coming from India are temporarily stopped from entering the country as India is the second country struggling with the deadly virus ( second variant). 

Travel Exemption is divided according to categories:

-Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

-Resident of New Zealand living in Australia.

-Persons invited by the Government providing medical help to the Covid patients and a few more.

The categories are further divided to understand the individual exemption.

International students are prohibited till further notice from the Government. Universities are not allowed to offer travel exemption as per the advice of the Government. However, international students are going through online classes and psychological consultation by the universities.

The Government is waiting for the crisis to low down. Once the situation gets better, international students may need to submit their health reports, including covid test & vaccine, in the near future before entering the country. 

Campuses are closed for international as well as national students as the Government doesn’t want to take the risk. Unvesrtivites are responsible for contacting students once the borders are opened, and the Government may allow travel exemptions to international students.

Every university in Australia wants the campus back to life. The universities have provided special guidelines to the students regarding travelling, studies, health.. Once things are back on track, international students will be called soon to join the campus. The day international students can apply for an exemption to enter Australia, make sure to follow the rules sincerely framed by the Government.
