Masterbatch and the main ingredient that makes up great product

by Tran Hoa Marketing

When it comes to the term masterbatch, many people wonder what it is, where it comes from, and hundreds of different questions related to this word. Today, we will help you answer questions related to masterbatch so that you partly understand more about it!

Masterbatch - an integral part of today's plastics industry

Masterbatch is the result of the composition of chemical components such as primary plastic and other additives (may have additional color if the manufacturer wants to change the color of the product). When researchers introduced solutions to create masterbatch from available materials in the market, the plastic industry changed a lot; such as the previous day, the investment in raw materials and machinery to produce plastic particles will cost a lot of costs. But now, these problems are no longer difficult for manufacturers: low production costs, improved job performance, ...

The 3 main components make up a great masterbatch product

Typically, pigments are divided into two types: organic and inorganic. Organic colors are usually phthalocyanine blue, ... and inorganic colors are iron oxide red, titanium color, etc. These are the common colors that manufacturers often use. A small note is that masterbatch made from polyolefins and PVC cannot have a product with natural color as the other lines.

The additives masterbatch mainly create moisture for the product, in addition they also create stability and compatibility with each other materials but does not affect the quality of each component. When producing polyolefin masterbatch, it is often used with low molecular polyethylene or zinc stearate wax to make dispersion between materials easier.

Primary resins are always carefully considered by the manufacturer to select the particles that are compatible with other components during fabrication. At that time, the new masterbatch will have good dispersion and mobility ability between the unaffected substances. Specifically, people choose high density polymer to correspond to high melting index to ensure the masterbatch has a certain gloss.
