One thing that all women must remember is that without periods, there cannot be pregnancy. Irregular or abnormal menses account about 40% cases of infertility. Women usually cease to ovulate in case of abnormal menses and no periods.

Treatment for Irregular Menses

Following are some of the treatments to cure irregular menses:

  1. Remove Stress: Removing of stress will help to regulate the hormones which will lead to regulate the menstrual cycle.
  2. Treating current disease or conditions: Treating the current disease might be helpful if these irregular menses are caused by it.
  3. Hormonal Therapy: Menstrual cycle can be regulated through hormones such as estrogen which are instrumental in stemming excessive bleeding.
  4. Lifestyle changes: One must adopt healthy lifestyle and eschew smoking, excessive drinking and usage of drugs. Eating healthy food and moderate exercise are also beneficial.
  5. Surgery: Sometimes, abnormal periods are caused by structural problems in uterus or because of blockage of fallopian tubes. They can be cured through specific surgeries. Uterine Fibroids are one of the causes of abnormal menses so it is important to get them removed through surgery (or other available methods) to overcome irregular menses.
