IPL 2019 Auctions: A whopping 1003 players had submitted their names for the IPL auctions this year. Out of which only 346 have been filtered down by eight IPL franchises. Yes, the IPL is the grandest T20 league but a response like this wasn’t anticipated, even for the high IPL standards.
However, the shortened list has been finalised & the auctions will happen in the 18th of December at Jaipur. Although the dates for the IPL 2019 haven’t been announced, it’s likely to be scheduled somewhere between March 23 & Mid-May. The dates for the general elections 2019 haven’t been finalised & hence this hiatus. If the IPL coincides with general elections, the games will happen in South Africa or UAE.

England’s Sam Curran, easily the find for them in 2018 has listed himself in the INR 2 crore bracket. There are 9 players on this list & none from India. Also on the list is Mumbai’s bowling mentor from the previous season – Lasith Malinga.
Yuvraj Singh, Wriddhiman Saha, Mohammed Shami and Axar Patel have set their base prices at INR 1 crore, while Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales place themselves in the INR 1.5 crore bracket.
Glenn Maxwell & Aaron Finch, the Aussie duo were released by their respective franchises. Maxwell was included into the Delhi set up for 9 crores & Finch signed for the Kings XI for 6.2 crores.
Also, a maximum of 70 players can be bought by eight franchises & only 20 slots were given for the overseas players.
The franchises had also requested an additional 20 slots. The number includes Aaron Hardie(the pacer who dismissed Virat Kohli in the warm-up game against CA XI), Ajay Rohera(the 21-year-old who smashed 267* in his debut FC game against Hyderabad), Alex Carey, Pat Brown, Laurie Evans & Jamie Everton.
