The legal system of the nation is a complex set of laws which is vast in its scope. We need highly specialized and experienced lawyers for our legal queries, and the internet provides us with the ease of access to legal counsel by distinguished practitioners. Getting legal advice online is easy, time consumer and in turn, more efficient.

According to the Third New International Dictionary from Merriam-Webster law is defined as follows: "Law is a binding custom or practice of a community; a rule or mode of conduct or action that is prescribed or formally recognized as binding by a supreme controlling authority or is made obligatory by a sanction (as an edict, decree, rescript, order, ordinance, statute, resolution, rule, judicial decision, or usage) made, recognized, or enforced by the controlling authority.”

The Indian legal system is a set of laws covering several aspects. There are criminal laws (under jurisdiction of the Indian Penal Code 1860), civil laws, corporate laws (Indian Contract Act 1872), cyber laws (Information Technology Act 2000), Constitutional and Administrative Law (based largely on the Government of India Act 1935), Property Laws, Personal Laws (different for each religion except for Goa, where a Uniform Civil Code is applied to all citizens and governs decisions regarding marriage, adoption, divorce, etc.)

The Indian judiciary is based on a common law system, under which the legal jurisdiction of the citizens lies. Precedents, customs, and legislation, all codify the law of the land. The Constitution of India is the supreme legal document which governs the entire nation.

The Indian Legal system is a complex set of laws which requires a thorough in-depth study for the just implementation of the laws to punish the guilty, get apt remuneration for the victim and to deliver justice to the society. So vast and complex are these laws, that we generally find lawyers only specializing in one kind of law, as they can be divorce lawyers, corporate lawyers, litigators, criminal lawyers, depending on their area of specialization.

These laws are made for the protection and enhancement of the citizens of the society, and for the entities delivering goods and services.

Getting legal advice from distinguished legal practitioners is necessary to ensure the most just outcome. When choosing a legal advisor, careful scrutiny and research must be done on the advisor. When we choose a lawyer to represent us, we are placing our trust and future in their hands. No wonder, we should only go for the best sources. Getting legal advice online gives us flexibility and ease of access to a large number of advocates who have registered on the internet. We even have the chance to find reviews by previous clients and this may help us make a better decision.
