We are feeling super thrilled and excited as India would be hosting the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. It is an even more exciting news because this is the very first time India will hold the affairs for the 2023 World Cup entirely on their own. In the past India has been a co-host alongside Pakistan, Sri-Lanka and Bangladesh.

The tournament which was first set to be held in Feb-March was postponed to October-November 2023, due to the uncertainties of the covid 19 situation and also to maintain the integrity of the selection process.  This is a very proud moment for India and we at sportsyaari are just as much looking forward to the games as all of you are. This is also an amazing opportunity for us to even further improve our cricket infrastructure and we have heard that fans will be getting nothing less than world class facilities. This is the 13th edition of the Men’s Cricket world cup and even though it’s a year away we want all our readers to be fully clued in to all the information we receive.

In total we would have 10 teams compete against each other, same as seen in the year 2019. This would be determined by a series of cricket competitions between 32 countries in total.  These 32 teams in total would be first divided in 3 different leagues, Super League, League 2 and Challenge League. Based on these games, teams would either directly Qualify, partially quality or fully be eliminated. Amongst the other great things, India qualifies automatically being the host county.

We have around 13 ready stadiums in India at this point and soon we would know where all the Cricket World Cup 2023 would be played. Cities such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Kanpur, Rajkot, Guwahati, are all equipped with great stadiums where the matches could be held.

As far as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup qualifier goes, it is confirmed to be played in Zimbabwe between 18 June and 9 July, 2023. So far, we haven’t heard much about what India’s Selection Strategy would be and I am sure it would be a tough one to choose from considering how we have a pool of excellent players in the Indian Cricket team right now. I am sure we all still remember the amazing game played by MS Dhoni in 2011.

We are all set for the game to return to the country where for all the fans cricket is more than just a game. I am sure the men in blue as well as the entire nation is rooting for India to win its 3rd World Cup trophy and as we conclude todays article, watch this space for everything you need to know about the much awaited Cricket World Cup 2023.
