In-Car Theater in New Fords?

The hype for self-driving cars is exciting! Many people are looking forward to traveling to a destination without actually having to drive the car. The real question is, what do you do to pass the time during a long car trip? Ford has just patented an in-car theater center so you can watch a movie while your self-driving car gets you to your destination. 

You can’t get this feature yet from any of the Ford dealers in Utah because self-driving cars are still in the middle of testing, but Ford is excited for what is to come of car driving. You may call it premature, but Ford sees this technology being applicable by the year 2020. That is when self-driving cars are expected to be on the road.

A large screen will take over your windshield, and a projector will sit just between the head rests of the driver and front passenger’s seats. Ford announced that passengers will only be able to use it during highway driving and when cars are driving in smart cities. Ford and Ford dealers in Utah hope to get vehicles in mass production so that many people can enjoy the entertainment while traveling. 

Many people see this as a stretch for Ford thinking it may be a dangerous commodity to have. If cars are already autonomous at that point, why not add a little bit of entertainment for everyone in the car. Many studies have shown that families already talk less in long car rides because of tablets and phones, this way families can at least enjoy one another’s company. While some people don’t like to talk during movies, maybe by simply putting something on in the background can give a family a moment to actually talk during their vacations and travels. 

When self-driving cars start to become available at any Ford dealers in Utah, they will sell quickly. Ford has put some good thought into installing this technology into their vehicles to really provide great entertainment and family time together during long road trips.

If your family is different and prefer to drive the car manually, Ford will still offer many cars at all Ford dealers to make sure that every customer is satisfied.
