There’s nothing quite like a camping trip in one of Utah’s national parks. When starting the trip on the concrete jungle of West Valley City, Utah to hitting the dirt roads in Moab one things for sure, SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) are absolutely necessary. For the wild spirits looking to adventure in comfort, Ford dealers have some exciting news for you.

In the next four years, Ford will release four new SUVs. They were quoted in stating that these four vehicles will be “new nameplates” that will keep them competing in segment niches that they never have before. There are no plans to get rid of any existing models. This move is part of Ford’s global plan.

What made Ford decide to take the jump? Baby boomers and millennials have given them 160 million reasons to invest in SUVs. Vice President of marketing, sales and service said, “It’s a demographic double whammy and it all points to one thing, more SUVs in the foreseeable future.”

Their recent research has shown that in places like Utah, Ford dealers notice that when a millennial has graduated and makes plans to start a family their interest in purchasing an SUV goes up significantly. In addition to that, even though baby boomers are now classified as empty nesters, with the climate of low gas prices, many choose to go for the comfort that these vehicles offer.

So when will your Utah Ford dealers have these SUVs on the lot and what can we expect? No dates or even locations have been announced yet. It’s leaving consumers wondering if they should be looking for a hybrid, perhaps an electric car, maybe even the resurgence of the Bronco. But keep your eyes peeled, because we can expect something like we’ve never seen before. Nothing drives quite like a Ford.
