Important Things to Consider Before USCIS RFE

by ProVal Tech ProVal Technologies

When USCIS needs more details to proceed with your application, it may send you a Request for Evidence, commonly known as RFE. To make the process smooth, you have to respond to the Request for Evidence within a specific time period that is 30 to 90 days so that your application will have sufficient evidence, and USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) can make a decision as per your wish. Here are some of the tips that will help you manage your USCIS RFE in an accurate manner.

If you receive an RFE, there is no need to take stress and tension. Receiving an RFE does not mean that your application is rejected. USCIS needs additional details and information from your side so that they can make the right decision. It is important to keep in mind that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has the authority to deny immigration application without issuing RFE. Thus, if you receive RFE, you should be thankful that you get the chance to provide additional details, documents, and convince them to approve your case.

Simply ensure that you return your RFE before the last date given by the USCIS. If you did not respond on time, USCIS will examine that you abandoned your case, issue a rejection, or decide on your application with the requested details. So, you should change your address with USCIS in case if you relocate or if you are a frequent traveler. If you get Request for Evidence from USCIS, you should take it seriously and grab the opportunity.

How to Change your Application Status?

You have three ways to respond to an RFE in a specific time given by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services:

  •         You can send an email by attaching all the requested documents at the same time.
  •          You can respond by sharing some of the details or evidence that was requested.
  •          You can withdraw your application.

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services or USCIS needs that you submit all the requested evidence at the same time, so you should not send evidence in separate mailings. If you send your response to USCIS and remember that you forget to include other documents, USCIS will not consider it when making a decision on your application.
