As far the "religious" estimation of May 5, 2008 and September 23, 2006 (Sonneberg Observatory) CCD pictures, there is none for extremely clear reasons:

1. Islamic month closures and starts from the dusk after a Hilal is unmistakable. (Islamic day and date begins from the nightfall and proceeds till the following dusk)

2. Islamic day takes after the night.

Then again, a sun based date begins from 12:00 midnight, trailed by the day and again by the night till 11:59 pm.

The Conjunction time (and additionally the time CCD pictures are handled and combined) can happen at any moment in a 24 hour day/date. They will start the lunar date from the moment the main picture was taken after the Conjunction. Subsequently isolating a lunar day/date into two unequal parts, one section being the last date of the "old" Islamic month, and the other part till the nightfall, being the main date of the new Hijri month. In this way the span of the last date and the length of the main date of the month may fluctuate from a few moments to 24 hours less a few moments.

(For instance, if Dr. Qaradawi's Fatwa was acknowledged then the dark moon plate seen at the sun powered obscuration was the Hilal of Shawwal. Thus, the month of was over at 11.35 am the point at which the overshadowing started. Therefore, the length of the primary day of Shawwal would be diminished from 11:35 am till the nightfall on the same date.)

ISNA INCORRECT Hijri Dates

For 2006 ISNA dates were ascertained by: "the Conjunction before 12:00 Noon GMT."

On August 1, 2007 ISNA Fiqh Council (ISNA FC) changed its guidelines for  and Eidain once more. Presently ISNA Islamic logbook dates are by " the conjunction must happen before dusk in Makkah and moonset after nightfall in Makkah" (Both figurings dismisses the obvious Hilal). The Muslim associations, gatherings and some ME nations have shed the Hilal-locating necessity. They contend: "There is no requirement for the Muslims to fall back on genuine locating." (Dr. Z Shah (Islamic Horizons (Sep/Oct. 2006) p. 51)

Saudi Dates of Ramadan, Eidain and Hajj

Saudi dates are not altered by the sickle moon seen in Makka. Since 1999 (1420AH) Saudi first date of Ramadan, and so forth starts at dusk of the 29th day if:

1. The geocentric conjunction (NM) happens before nightfall; and

2. The moon sets after the sun (in Makka).

ISNA took after Saudi dates for a considerable length of time and has at long last disposed of the moon-locating in the USA. Islamic Hijri dates distributed in the ISNA logbook and on the web of Mr. Khalid Shaukat (www.moonsighting.com) duplicate the Saudi dates and are mistaken. For right dates (constantly settled by Hilal in the US go to www.Islamicmoon.com.
