IIM Ahmedabad will be conducting CAT 2015

The CAT 2015 Applications will be filled online only and the exam will also be held in online mode only. On 26 July 2015, CAT 2015 official notification is expected to be released. Application process is expected to remain open till September 2015. The CAT Exam Pattern is also expected to remain the same, wherein a total of 100 questions will be asked and 170 minutes will be provided for attempting these questions.
IIM Ahmedabad will be holding the CAT 2015. Usually, the CAT Exam is conducted in the month of November every year but for 2015, it is being said that the exam will be preponed to October 2015. The notification for CAT 2015 is anticipated to be released by 26 July 2015 and with its release the rumors will rest and the final dates will be known. The CAT 2015 Application Process will all be online and is likely to remain open till September 2015. All the interested candidates satisfying the CAT eligibility criteria will be required to fill in the application form in order to appear for CAT 2015 Entrance Test.

CAT Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  • He/She must be a graduate.
  • 50% marks should be there in the Bachelor degree for applicants belonging to General     category and 45% marks should be there for applicants belonging to SC/ST/PwD and     other reserved category.
  • Applicants who will be giving their final year examination of their Bachelor Degree can     also apply for CAT 2015.

An application fee of Rs. 1600/- (Unreserved category) and Rs. 800/- (Reserved category) will be required to be remitted by the applicants along with the CAT application form in order to register for CAT.

The CAT Exam Pattern is also expected to remain the same, wherein a total of 100 questions will be asked and 170 minutes will be provided for attempting these questions. The 2 sections & segregation of questions is depicted in the table below -

 The candidates are free to attempt any of the section first and also they can answer the questions out of sequence too. Few changes are being expected in the quant section of the CAT 2015 Paper. Each candidate will be awarded 3 points for every correct answer marked by him/her. Also, 1 point will be deducted for each wrong answer marked by the candidate. However, there is no penalty for questions that are left unanswered/unmarked by the candidate.

The CAT 2015 Result will be announced in the month of December 2015. The result will be announced online and the same will be uploaded on the IIM official website. No scorecard of CAT will be sent through post/email to any of the candidates. After the declaration of the result, IIMs will release their cut offs and on the basis of these cut off lists, candidates will be shortlisted for GD & PI rounds.

Usually the IIMs cut off cross 90+ every year but then candidates scoring low percentilehttp://www.entrancecorner.com/bschool/cat/ are allotted with admission on the basis of their performance in GD & PI. So having a good percentile will not guarantee admission into IIM, the overall attitude and skills will be judged. IIMs reserve 3% seats of the total seats for PwD/ DA candidates, who will be certified as 40% or more disable. Other 15% will be reserved for candidates belonging to Schedule Caste (SC), other 7.5% for Schedule Tribes (ST) candidates and 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (Non- creamy layer OBC) candidates.
