ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) conducts an All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) to shortlist candidates taking admission into Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate and Ph.D. courses in Agriculture and Allied Sciences. The exam is conducted on a national level. Seats in a total of 11 courses in Under-graduation are offered for admission. The courses can be put into two categories based on major subject i.e. Biology or Mathematics. Courses available are Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing and Co-Operation, Forestry, Food Science. For Post-Graduation, there are 95 sub-subjects and 20 major subjects. ICAR Result 2017 will be declared soon for UG and PG Courses

Exam Pattern:

The exam for UG courses comprises of 180 multi-choice questions which are to be answered in two and a half hours or one hundred and fifty minutes. The paper conducted is of two Streams i.e. Stream A and Stream B. Stream A consists of questions from P/C/B and is for Biology related UG courses. Stream B consists of questions from P/C/M and is for mathematics-related UG courses. Both the papers have sixty questions from each subject and for each subject, +4 marks are awarded and for every wrong answer -1 is awarded. Paper totally is of 720 marks.

The exam for PG courses comprises of 160 questions out of which 150 questions are multi-choice questions and 10 questions are cross-matching type questions. Time allotted to answer 160 questions is two and a half hours or one hundred and fifty minutes. Marks awarded for each correct multi-choice correct question is 4 and deducted for every wrong answer is 1. Whereas marks awarded for every correct cross-matching question is 2 and deducted for the wrong answer is 0.2. The paper is of total 650 marks.

Counseling Process:

The student will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the entrance exam. Once the result is declared, a category wise merit list will be prepared according to which students will be allotted their counseling centers counseling time.

After this, the students qualified for attending the counseling will have to fill a prescribed counseling form and pay the counseling fees of Rs. 2000 at the time of counseling. Along with the counseling fees, the students will also have to bring their original documents for verification.

Required Documents for Counseling:

The following documents will have to be presented at the time of counseling for verification and one self-attested copy of each document will have to be submitted.

Ø  Class 12th Mark sheet and Passing Certificate

Ø  Migration Certificate

Ø  Transfer Certificate

Ø  Character Certificate

Ø  Provisional or Final Mark Sheet of Final Semester/Year from the University (For Post-Graduation Courses Only)

Ø  Caste Certificate (Valid for SC/ST/OBC)

Ø  Medical Certificate (Valid for PWD students)

Ø  Domicile Certificate

Ø  Admit Card

Ø  Three Passport size photos as uploaded online

Authority Letter, if candidate is not present at the counseling venue
