IAS 2016 Exam
IAS 2016- Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the most prestigious of all the entrance examinations i.e. the Indian Administrative Services Examination to select the able candidates to run the administrative mechanism of the country. The notification cum application form the current year recruitment will be uploaded on its official website from 23rd April 2016. Lakhs of candidates will be vying for the 1100 seats to be able to occupy the top of the decision making body. To fill the Application form, they will have to visit the official website of UPSC or they can also click on the direct link provided at the website of entrance Corner. The IAS 2016 Examination is conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Main Examination.
Preliminary Exam:
IAS 2016 Application Form
The application form will be accepted through online only. The application form will be available on the Commission’s website. The applicant will have to fill the application form by completing the two-parts of the form viz. Part-I and Part-II Registration. In the part- I registration, candidates will have to fill in all the details and upload the scanned imaged of the photo & signature. In Part-II, candidates will have to make payment of the requisite application fee. The fee can be paid via online mode or through the challan which is to be deposited in the State Bank of India.

Important dates as per the IAS 2016
Following are the important dates as per the IAS 2016 is concerned:
- Release of the notification cum Application form for the IAS 2016 – 23rd April 2016
- Last date to fill the application form – 20th May 2016
- Date of release of the IAS Admit Card 2016 – last week of July 2016
- Date of IAS Preliminary exam 2016 – 07th August 2016
- Date of IAS Main exam 2016 – 03rd December 2016
IAS 2016 Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age Limit: The age of the applicant must lie in the range of 21 to 32 years.
- The applicant should hold a degree or possess an equivalent qualification obtained from a recognized University to be eligible to apply and take the exam. Candidates awaiting their results for the qualifying exam are also eligible to be admitted to the Preliminary examination. But, they will have to submit the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with their applications for the main examination once shortlisted for the same.
IAS 2016 Exam Pattern
The IAS 2016 Examination is conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Main Examination.
Preliminary Exam:
- It will be comprised of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
- Paper – I is General Studies and Paper-II is Civil Services Aptitude Test.
- Both papers will be objective in nature and will be set in both Hindi and English.
- Main Examination:
- It will include a total of nine papers; all of them will be conventional essay type questions.
- Paper I and Paper II of the Main Exam are qualifying in nature while the remaining seven papers will be based on the optional subjects that will be chosen by the candidate.
- The maximum marks for the two qualifying papers will be 300 each and that for the remaining seven papers will be 250 marks.
