I like my coffee cold

Each space you enter in a single day defines your experience. I had realized this when I joined my bachelor's course. That in choosing the specific spaces I visit in a single day, I can somehow control my experiences & my life. There were many such spaces I invested in years to come, libraries & coffee houses were among these. I recently joined a company in CP where I work as a Research Assistant. And as soon as I joined I began my search for a good library & coffee shops in cp. I wanted something specific. Flavors I hadn’t yet tasted.

I usually leave from work around 6.30 pm and I live alone and I have no one to go home to. All in all, I have plenty of time left before I pass out on my mattress in my room to wake up and repeat the cycle. Like I mentioned before, I like to invest this time into different spaces. So in my search for the best dessert shop in cp, I decided to scout my options on foot as I worked quite near the famous Gol market.  There are too many coffee shops in cp. I hadn’t realized that although I was somewhat aware. The best approach was a random selection. But I was hesitant in going to a cafe & risk ruining my hours without any prior research. To top it off, a coffee shop was just one of the places I wanted to add to my day. I needed my time, wasting it was simply not an option.

I began my research in the most basic manner by googling for good cafe restaurants in cp. And above all the options that appeared was Brioche Doree, apparently an authentic French cafe & bakery shop in cp. The reviews were good & enough in numbers to question their authenticity. BD is a well known international cafe, I had heard about it from a friend of mine. I didn’t know that they had launched their store in Connaught Place. I was quick to decide that I was going to give BD a try & scheduled my evening mealed to the spot. What happened at this coffee shop in cp was something that took me by surprise.

On the scheduled date, I was at this bakery shop in cp exactly by 7 pm. The ambience of the cafe hit all the right strings. The soothing colours of the interiors, soft lighting, and the mild tunes of jazz made me comfortable in an instant. The blend of achromatic grey of the floor that was combined with a yellow & green of the walls was pleasing to the eyes. The seating however spacious, the linear arrangement is something I have never liked in cafe restaurants. Regardless it is one of the most spacious coffee shops in cp.

It was when I was going through the menu I saw a familiar face across the seating area of this bakery shop in cp. Decade-old memories came alive to stimulate my senses & land me into a land of nostalgia. I must admit, I have imagined such scenarios at times & even my dreams have been adorned by a pleasant face every now & then. I got up from my seat and started walking across the halls of this coffee shop in cp towards her. I didn’t have any expectations but the smile that enveloped her face once she noticed me was enough to keep my feet going without any change in pace.

To my fortune, she had also come alone to this coffee shop in cp and we both had enough hours on our plate. Initially, we had planned on leaving the bakery shop in cp  & explore other places in the market. So I asked her if she would like to have some coffee. And I told her that I remember she likes her coffee cold. We both had a piece of Brioche Doree’s Rainbow Rumble cake with our coffee after which we headed out to explore cp.
