Introduction
The human resource manager is directly responsible for
the overall administration, coordinator and evaluation of the human resource
function. It’s a function which is follows by specific organization that
focuses on recruitment, management, and providing direction for the people
who work in the organization. Leadership is an important aspect of the functioning
of any organization.
Human Resource Management
Human resource is one of the most valuable and unique assets of an organization. Human resources refer to “the total knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents and aptitudes of an organization’s workforce, as well as the values, attitudes and beliefs of the individuals involved”. Management as a process involves planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling activities that facilitate the achievement of an organization’s objective.
There are so many things in Human resource management assignment, and it is one of the most complex and challenging fields of modern management. Traditional approaches to personnel management emphasize command and control. These have now given way to new approaches which gives greater freedom and support to the employees.
Leadership Management
Leadership is an important aspect of the functioning of any organization. Line managers have the authority to direct the work to their subordinates and help in achieving the goals of the organization.
Line managers manage the operational functions like recruitment, orientation, training, controlling labour costs etc. These operational functions are very crucial for the company to survive. Staff managers like Human resource Managers help and assist the Line Managers to recruit, hire and compensation.
Individual goals and aspirations have to be in alignment with organizational goals for the success and growth of the organization. In case of Personnel Management would be predominantly dealing with day to day issues. It’s an Ad hoc and reactive in nature, a short term perspective rather than strategic. Whereas in HRM it is also dealing in day to day issues but being proactive in approach. It is a deliberating long term strategic view of Human Resource.
Human resource development
Human resource development can be defined as the process of ensuring the right number of qualified candidate, into the right job so as to ensure the results in efficient and effective manner. The resources can be available internally or externally.
Motivation can be defined as a condition that is initiated by a physiological need in an individual, which causes the individual to behave in a certain manner in order to meet a particular goal.
The HRD wanted to build a competitive edge so they wanted to reduce the attrition. They wanted to create an open and honest environment. When they discovered the attrition had increased they started increasing the employee engagement.
