Huawei Honor V8 Teardown
There have been plenty of rumors regarding the Huawei Honor V8 until the company finally released it. The launching event took place on the 10th of May. Even though the smartphone is pretty competitive, the Honor V8 is not the best handset launched by Huawei, but it’s the most advanced ever released by its subsidiary. The phone itself has a full metal body, and sports a nice overall design. Also, it comes with two camera sensors located on the back of the phone and it provides other good technical specs.
That being said, the first teardown of this device has surfaced online, courtesy of GizOK. The source mentions that the Honor V8 is not exactly the easiest phone to repair, this handset sports a metal unibody design, and even though Huawei mobile did a really good job with its design, the teardown process isn’t exactly for everyone. Don’t get me wrong though, the company did a great job here and they didn’t use too much glue or anything like that, so if you know what you’re doing, the Honor V8 shouldn’t be all that difficult to repair.
About the Honor 8 phone itself we can mention that it’s sold in two different models. The first one comes with full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, while the second model boats a QHD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Whether we’re talking about the Full HD version or the QHD one, both panels measure 5.7 inches. Also, both of them include 4 GB of RAM. The Honor V8 model with Full HD display is powered by a Kirin 950 octa-core CPU and packs 32 GB of internal storage, while the variant with the QHD panel is underpinned by a Kirin 955 octa-core SoC, and comes with double the native storage space, specifically 64 GB. Fortunately, both phones feature a microSD card slot, so if you feel the need to expand the storage space you have the possibility to do it by up to 128 GB. In terms of design, they both look the same. Moreover, both models sport the same cameras. The have a 12 MP shooter placed on the back side, and an 8 MP one on the front side, which is more than enough for selfies and video calls. The operating system that the Honor V8 runs out of the box is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is customized with the company’s proprietary emotion user interface. Last but definitely not least, the devices measures 157 x 77.6 x 7.8 mm and has a weight of 170 grams.
