Problem and solution papers are meant for analyzing and writing about a topic by identifying a problem and proposing one or more solutions. Like in an academic paper, the goal is to have a persuasive argument and get your point across.

Let’s look at how reading, writing and analyzing problem and solution papers can improve your academic writing skills.

Introduction

In an introduction, you need to be able to describe the problem and explain as to why it needs to be solved and then work on your solutions.  Writers will need to figure whether it’s an unknown problem because in that case, more research has to be done. If it’s a known problem then a vivid picture will need to be created and then the reader will need to be convinced that it’s an important problem. By analyzing or writing a true –life story, using personal experience or talking about a problem that needs to be dealt with. It gives a writer the push to explore new avenues and in the long run, will only improve one’s writing skills.

Body

The body of the paper is crucial as you’re meant to explore the solutions to the problems clearly. Explain as to who will be in charge of while the problem is being dealt with. In doing so, you will have to be able to provide sufficient evidence in favor of the solution. This is important as it gives writers a chance to improve their academic writing skills by being persuasive and at the same time build better skills by being able to back themselves up.

Conclusion

This is the most important part and it must be compelling and captivating. The writer can learn a lot from this since the conclusion needs to have a convincing argument and should let the reader know about the best solution possible. Explain how the situation will change and convince the readers that the solution is needed. In order to make it more convincing provide statistics and real life examples in order to create an impact. The conclusion is a great learning curve for writers as its main purpose it to be persuasive and make sure the readers agree with the subject matter.

Using these practices will definitely improve your academic writing skills.
