How to use Facebook effectively for selling products?

Social Media marketing is the latest in thing and even big corporate houses are engaging in online marketing. Facebook has emerged as one of the leading marketing platform due to its widespread reach and popularity. It is no more a secret that a lot of companies are indulging in paid facebook marketing ads and strategizing their brand promotional activities accordingly.

To leverage the facebook popularity for brand marketing, it is very important to have a clear understanding of the few aspects like target audience, ad timing and content posted on the facebook page. A good content is always the king and a good SEO is queen.

Few tips to sell products on facebook-

1.      Create a page and sponsor it strategically

Creation of a page is very essential and once the brand name has its own name, it can go on to register its presence. An impressive product page on facebook should have its logo, a profile picture, credentials such as address, email and a brief description of the product/brand to make an impact on the minds of customers.

Initially it is advisable to go for organic reach but after a time, sponsored reach should be planned strategically. Selecting the right target audience, location, and age group become important. For any brand to reach out, selecting its niche is very important.

2.      Content is the king

Content remains to be the main attraction of a facebook page. The better the content, the more engaging it is for the audience. Useful and carefully placed content, interactive posts, and infographics increases the page value and customers better connect with it. The content should be unique and unplagiarized to maintain its credibility.

Put all necessary information related to products at one place. It should serve as a web store for your products and customers should be able to browse through all important details.

3.      Regular Interaction

The purpose of the page is to build network with its prospective customers which is possible only through regular interaction. Interactive posts and regular teasers on facebook page prove to be very useful. Interactive posts can be created about products and it can boost the sales activities. Using the hash tags and tagging the products is another important activity deployed by digital marketers to reach out to potential customers. Remember, a customer only gets triggered to buy of he gets attracted to the ad. Therefore, careful placement of the ad is very important.

A sneak peek into upcoming products, discount offers, off season sale or any collaboration would trigger the interest of the customer. Build cool infographics around it to up the customer interest.

4.      Targeting the right audience

Sponsoring the page is an important activity, but it is not as simple as it seems to be. Boost, as it is called, should be done by targeting the customers based on an age criteria, location and their spending choices. For example, for selling a particular household item would require targeting females in the age bracket of 25-45 to increase the reach. ECommerce websites usually target their customers based on their interest and purchasing power.

Apart from targeting the right customers, time of posting also determines the traffic to the page. Avoid sales posting in the mornings as people rush through the content. Check a pattern and determine your best time to post the content.

5.      Setting  the redirect button to website

Make full use of facebook page by inserting the right buttons to aggregate sales. Website URL, email address, logo of the website, and a ‘Shop Now’ button is a must if you want to increase the chances of customers visiting your website or checking out the products. Facebook marketing offers many options to experiment and set up a digital platform to advertise one’s products. It only needs to be rightly targeted towards the right customers.

Flash sales are a very common method to lure customers to want a product now than later. Use of catchy language and hyperbolic quotes may increase the chance of customers returning to the ad it is advisable to insert a redirect URL to flash sale button. This will directly take the customers the product page. But companies should not use it too often.
