How to Use AirDrop on Apple Devices?

AirDrop is an amazing feature which allows Apple devices such as Mac, iPhone, and iPad to share files wirelessly. This feature is very convenient. But since it is relatively new, a number of people do not know how to use it. Normally, for sharing pictures, documents, etc., people use emails or messaging apps. However, you can simply use AirDrop for sharing files with people who are near you. In this blog, we will discuss the process of using AirDrop.

Enable AirDrop for iPhone or iPad

      Get started by opening "Control Center" on your iPhone or iPad.

      After that, you should press and hold the Wi-Fi option.

      Then you have to tap on "AirDrop" option.

      Thereafter, you should tap on "Contacts Only" or "Everyone" to enable AirDrop.


Enable AirDrop for iPhone X, XS or XR


You can enable AirDrop for iPhone X, XS or XR. Here are the instructions given below.

      First, you have to open the "Control Center" on your device.

      After that, press and hold the Wi-Fi option.

      Then you should tap on AirDrop.

      Thereafter, you have to tap on "Contacts Only" or "Everyone" to enable AirDrop.

      To get started, open Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

      After that, you should move down and tap on "Screen Time."

      Then tap on "Turn On Screen Time."

      When the prompt comes, tap on Continue.

      When the prompt comes and asks, "this is your iPhone or your child's," you should choose "This is My iPhone."

      Later, you have to tap on "Content & Privacy Restrictions."

      You should tap on Allowed Apps.

      Now, you have to tap on the "AirDrop On/Off Switch" to the "On" position.


Enable or Disable AirDrop for Mac


If you want to enable or disable AirDrop for Mac, you need to follow the steps given below.

      First and foremost go to the Finder on your Mac.

      After that, you should click on AirDrop from the left pane.

      You can choose "Off" to disable AirDrop.

      You can choose "Contacts Only" to turn on only your contacts.

      Or else select "Everyone."


AirDrop Using Drag and Drop on Mac


You can AirDrop using drag and drop on Mac. Here are the instructions given below.

      First, you have to open the Finder app on your Mac.

      After that, you should locate the files that you would like to AirDrop.

      You have to move the files on AirDrop in the sidebar.

      Place the cursor on it until you see the AirDrop screen.

      Then put the files onto the image of contact.


AirDrop Using the Context Menu


If you want to AirDrop from the context menu on Mac, you need to follow the steps given below.

      Get started by going to the Finder app on your Mac.

      After that, you should locate the file that you would like to share.

      Then you have to right-click on the file and select "Share" from the menu section.

      Select AirDrop from the sub-menu.

      To begin with, select the "Share" button on the top-right side.

      After that, you should click on AirDrop.
