Step 1: Enable Automated Sync
You

Settings. Then, tap on your account name. In the data usage section, check the
“Sync Gmail” checkbox.
Step 2: Check Your Password
You
must go using the browser to log into your Gmail account if you are
successfully into the account with the password. If you are shown with an
error, that may be why the app is not syncing properly. So change the password
on both.
Step 3: Update the App
Updating
the app into the latest version may fix the Gmail sync problem. Visit your
Google Play Store if you see an update option next to Gmail. You can reinstall
the app if you still find the issue.
