How to Tell if it is Rosacea?

So I have been trying everything to get rid of the redness, dryness and flaking that seems to never go away around and on my nose. Now I am noticing that I have these tiny little red veins that are rather visible on the sides of my nose. I see these are called thread veins, probably because they are so skinny, like spider veins.

I decided I was going to research rosacea because my best friend and my mother both suffer from it, one worse than the other. My Mom has these breakout type occurances on her cheeks that cover almost all of the middle of her face, often with seriously painful looking pimples and very thick, red skin. My best friend however seems to have it mild like I do, and hers isn’t very noticeable as she takes a medication daily for it.

It hasn’t been until just recently, as in the last 20 minutes that my self diagnosis has come to light, I have always thought that I had red dry skin that would go away after using oodles of expensive moisturizers. It is still there and seems to get worse during the winter as my skin drys out. Nothing really seems to help.

I see that dermatologists recommend cleansing your face with Cetaphil, I never knew that and just happen to have some under my bathroom sink, I was told it was perfect for removing eye make up so I think I will see if that helps. Has anyone else tried this cleanser?

Also, I am currently pregnant so I can’t take any oral medications and am hoping that my doctor will be able to find something for me to just apply to my face and see if that helps. After seeing all the photos online I am slightly relieved that this could very well be what my problem is and has been for years. My fingers are crossed!
