How to capture screenshot on iPhone

On iPhone X, XS, and XR:

These new gadgets don’t have a Home button, so the trick is different for them. On these devices, you can take a screenshot by using the side button.

1.    Open the screen you want to screenshot.

2.    Set up everything on the screen you want in your shot.

3.    Place your finger on both side buttons. In place of ‘Home’ button use ‘Volume Up’ button.

4.    Press and hold both buttons at the exact same time.

5.    Release when the screen blinks with a shutter sound.

On iPhone 8 and previous:

In iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 and older the method for capturing the screen is exactly the same.

1.    Open the screen you want to screenshot.

2.    Set up everything on the screen you want in your shot.

3.    Place your one finger on the power button and one on the ‘Home’ button.

4.    Press and hold both buttons at the exact same time.

5.    Release when the screen blinks with a shutter sound.

The screenshot is captured and saved in Photos.

How to capture screenshot on Mac (Mojave)

On Mac, you can capture the screen as you want with the screenshot toolbar. Here is how to open screenshot toolbar and capture a screenshot.

1.    Use the keyboard shortcut, “Command + Shift + 5” to open up the screenshot tools.

2.    Select the option from the toolbar, as you want to take the screenshot.

3.    Click the ‘Window or select the portion’ you want to capture.

4.    Right click on the screenshot at the right bottom side of the screen.

5.    Select an option to save your screenshot.

How to capture screenshot on iPads and iPad Pro

On iPad Pro 2018:

The iPad Pro 2018 model doesn’t have a Home button, so the trick is different for them. You need to use different buttons.

1.    Open the screen you want to screenshot.

2.    Set up everything on the screen you want in your shot.

3.    Place your one finger on the Wake/Sleep button and one on the ‘Volume up’ button.

4.    Press and hold both buttons at the exact same time.

5.    Release when the screen blinks with a shutter sound.

On iPad Pro 2017, iPad Air, iPad mini, or other iPads:

1.    Open the screen or app you want to screenshot.

2.    Set up everything on the screen you want in your shot.

3.    Press and hold ‘Wake/sleep’ button.

4.    Keep holding and quickly press the ‘Home’ button.

5.    Release the buttons when the screen blinks with a shutter sound.

How to capture screenshot on Apple Watch

You can also capture the screen of your Apple Watch. If you want to take the screenshot on Apple Watch with watchOS 3, then you need to turn on screenshot first because in watchOS 3 screenshot feature is disabled by default. Here is how to capture your Watch screen.

Step to turn on Screenshots on your Apple Watch:

1.    On your iPhone, open the ‘Watch app.’

2.    Open ‘My Watch’ tab.

3.    Go to ‘General’ settings.

4.    Turn on the switch of ‘Enable Screenshots.

Steps to take screenshots on Apple Watch:

1.    Open the app, notification, clock face, or any screen you want to capture.

2.    Hold down the ‘Digital Crown.’

3.    And quickly press the ‘Side’ button.

4.    Release the buttons when the screen blinks with a shutter sound.

How to capture screenshot on Apple TV

You can take a screenshot on your Apple TV too if it is of fourth-generation with the help of an app called “Xcode.” You need to install “Xcode” on your Mac.

To install Xcode and take a screenshot on Apple TV:

1.    Open the ‘App Store’ of your Mac.

2.    Search for the ‘Xcode’ and download the app.

3.    After that, connect your Mac with a USB cable to your Apple TV.

4.    Now, open the ‘Xcode’ app.

5.    Open the ‘Windows’ menu.

6.    Select your ‘Apple TV’ from the Devices.

7.    And click the ‘Take Screenshot’ button.

The screen of your Apple TV will capture.

Note: You can’t capture DRM-laden or copyrighted content with these commands.
