Exams can be intimidating for many students, especially those who do not feel like they are ready to sit and take them. However, as a student, you are as ready for the exams as you have prepared for them and this makes it very important to start preparing for the same early. The last thing you want to do is cram everything last minute because the chances of forgetting and getting confused are high and it could actually leave you blank just when the paper is before you. Luckily, there is always something you can do to make sure you are ready for the exams and positive that you will pass.

1. Create a study timetable

Studying when made a habit allows enough time for what you have learned to actually sink. Create a study plan for every subject long before the exam period nears and make sure that you stick to it. This way, by the time the exams arrive, you will only need to polish a little and you are good to go. Balance out the subjects, but allocate a little more study time for those that seem a bit challenging for you.

2. Get into study groups

Other than studying as much as you can alone, study groups can prove to be very helpful. This is because you get to help each other out on different areas as friends, and since you can interact well, the studying becomes a win for all. You can give help in areas you are best in and get help in areas that are a bit of a challenge to you.

3. Get old exam papers and practice

It is a great way of getting you familiar with question structures. From the old exam papers you might also discover areas you have not tackled well, giving you enough time to check them out. If you are not very sure with paper timing, the old exams can also work as your guide so when the actual exam is here you know just how to spread the allocated time to complete the paper satisfactorily.

4. Revise even during school holidays

The power of revision cannot be ignored and you should ensure that you get some time for revision, even during school holidays. Revision can help you evaluate what you know about different topics, especially when the exams are closer. It would be a good idea to use diagrams and charts when revising so you can get a brief format that helps you recall what you need to remember during the exams. You can try an online revision that makes it possible for you to revise with the help of teachers from your mobile device or computer.

5. Get help

The truth is there could be areas that still prove hard to sink even with your lengthy study times and revisions with friends. In case you have such areas, get help from your teachers or trainers so you can have them straightened out for you before the exams. A short study session with your subject teacher can make all the difference for you.
