How to Study for the Civil Service Exam

by Saalim Tahir Blogger

The Civil Service exam paper is one of those papers that almost every professional would prepare at least once in his or her life. It is one of those papers which has been prepared by many professional as well as ordinary people over the years but still remains the same. There are several aspects about this paper that needs to be taken into consideration before you actually start on your examination. Read on to find out more...

The first aspect that you need to consider is that the Civil Service exam is not written in just a plain book form. "Original draft of the Civil Service exam question paper must be prepared in Hindi, not in English as it causes many errors and omissions in translation paper from English to Hindi, or any other languages." he says. This might sound odd but I believe that most of the people who have studied the exam paper in their own languages have failed to pass it despite of knowing that they have to write in the same language.

It is also important to note that there are many different versions of the exam paper that you can find on internet. Some of these are easy to understand, while others may confuse you even more. However, if you are an aspiring candidate then I recommend that you use the official site of the Federal Government to study and prepare for the exam.

The second aspect that you need to consider before you start studying for the Civil Service exam is that you need to study the exam paper like you would your regular textbooks. Even if you feel that you are studying the exam paper well, still you can find chances to make a mistake by simply reading and interpreting the paper in the book form. Try not to read it backwards or forwards, but read it one line at a time so that you do not make any kind of mistakes at all. When you have finished with your first attempt, try to revise the paper and review the questions that you have made errors on.

Another aspect that you need to consider is that the exam paper is very short. You cannot expect to finish this paper in a day or even a week or two, so you should be able to finish this task in a short time period. The reason behind this is that the paper is divided into various sections which are made of multiple choice and multiple-choice questions that are very simple and easy to answer.

Last but not least, it is important to note that there are some questions that have to be asked repeatedly during the entire exam. So, the best way is to ask all the questions that you think you will face during the exam and see if you can answer them all before you move on to the next questions. Remember, a good pass is the only thing that you can ever get when you do this exam so don't let your confidence get destroyed by making any mistakes or miss a question during the exam, as you might end up failing your exam.
