by Henry M. Personal Development Blogger

Starting with what you have requires a mindset of resourcefulness and creativity. It requires patience, determination and being action oriented.

Most of the time we shy away or are scared to start with what have especially when the resources are seemingly not enough.

We want to start when we think we have enough resources. However, life as it maybe usually does not accord you resources, as you want them. It offers you resources according to what you can manage now.

Moreover, more often than not these resources are usually enough to get you started. You just have to dig deep and be very disciplined when applying them.

If you are resolved and are ready to take on the world but are worried about, your current resources here are some steps that can help you get started:

Take Stock of What You Have

Start by making a list of your current resources, skills, and assets. This could include anything from your education and work experience to your personal network and physical possessions.

Taking stock of what you have means assessing your current resources, in order to determine what you can use to achieve your goals.

·        Start by creating a list of everything you have, including tangible and intangible assets. This could include physical possessions like your car or computer, skills like writing or coding, and personal qualities like determination or empathy.

·        Next, identify your strengths. Look at the items on your list and identify your strengths. These are the resources, skills, and assets that you feel most confident and competent in.

·        Recognize your weaknesses - Identify the areas where you may be lacking. These are the resources, skills, and assets that you need to work on or acquire in order to achieve your goals.

·        Consider external resources - Look beyond yourself and consider external resources that you have access to, such as your personal network, community organizations, or educational opportunities.

·        Evaluate your resources - Evaluate each item on your list and determine how useful it is in achieving your goals. Consider the level of expertise, relevance, and availability of each resource.

·        Prioritize your resources - Once you have evaluated your resources, prioritize them based on their relevance and importance to your goals. Focus on the resources that are most critical to achieving your desired outcome.

 Define Your Goals

Determine what you want to achieve and why it's important to you. Having a clear goal will help you focus your efforts and prioritize your resources.

Defining your goals is an essential step in achieving success in any area of your life. Your goals must be fall with the following parameters.

·        Must be specific - A well-defined goal should be specific and clear. Rather than a vague goal like “get in shape,” define your goal in specific terms such as “lose 10 pounds in three months.”

·        Must be measurable - A measurable goal is one that you can track your progress towards. By making your goal measurable, you can see how much progress you have made and how much further you have to go.

·        Must be it achievable - Your goal should be achievable and realistic. Consider your current resources, skills, and assets when defining your goal to ensure that it is something you can realistically accomplish.

·        Must be relevant - Your goal should be relevant to your life and your priorities. Ensure that your goal is aligned with your values and is something that will improve your life.

·        Must be time-bound - A time-bound goal has a specific deadline for completion. This will help you stay focused and motivated to achieve your goal within a specific time frame.

·        Must be written down - Writing down your goal can help make it more real and tangible. Put it in a place where you can see it regularly to remind yourself of your goal and stay motivated.

Identify the Gaps

Look at the difference between what you have and what you need to achieve your goals. This will help you identify the areas where you need to be more resourceful.

Be Creative

Use your creativity to find ways to fill the gaps. Think outside the box and consider unconventional approaches to problem-solving.

Take Action

Once you have a plan, take action. Start with small steps and build momentum over time.

Taking action is important because it is the only way to make progress towards your goals and achieve success. Without action, your goals will remain only ideas or dreams, and you will not be able to create the life you desire.

Taking action helps you gain clarity and understanding of what works and what doesn't. When you take action, you learn from your experiences and can adjust your approach as needed.

Taking action builds momentum towards achieving your goals. Each step you take, no matter how small, brings you closer to your desired outcome and gives you motivation to keep going.

As you take action, you open yourself up to new experiences and opportunities that can help you achieve your goals.

Remember, taking action does not have to be a huge, life-changing step. Small, consistent actions towards your goals can lead to big results over time. So, take action today and start creating the life you want!

Ultimately, taking action is what creates results. Without action, your goals will remain only ideas or dreams, and you will not be able to create the life you desire.

Learn From Your Experiences

Be open to learning from your experiences and adjust your approach as needed. This will help you become more resourceful and effective over time.

Conclusion

Remember that starting with what you have requires patience, persistence, and a willingness to take risks. With the right mindset and approach, you can achieve your goals and make the most of your resources.
