As a professional doctor who focuses on counseling, therapy, psychology, and anything in between, you know as well as anyone that there are many competitors out there. And as with any profession, it's imperative that you find a special niche that you can join to set yourself apart from other professionals. There are several things you can do to help your professional training and experience stand out. Keep reading to learn more.

Write a Book

As a professional working with clients on a daily basis, you have incredible experiences to share. Of course, you must do all of this legally and never give away private information. You are bound to have generic stories that you're able to write about so why not put it all in a book? That way, you can help others through your written word, as well as get your name out there to others that may need to seek your help or know someone who needs to.

Start a YouTube Channel

Video blogs are very popular in this day and age, so if you want to stay on the cutting-edge side of technology, start a YouTube channel. Depending on your area of expertise, it can be focused on advice you have for handling transitions or anxiety or whatever your area of specialization may be. Similar to the benefits of writing a book, you'll be getting your name out there, generate a following, and help people all at the same time.

Speak at Events

Speaking at events can be a great door to open to help people all over the country, and maybe even the world. If you decide to start speaking at events at churches, schools, and corporations, you're able to share your advice and knowledge about your specialization. This type of interaction with an audience allows for questions and answers face-to-face, which is a really great way for people to put your face with your name.

Blog About It

Just like the Dr. Zwig blog, that he started, this is another great option. If you're more comfortable writing than speaking in front of a camera or live audience, then starting a blog would be perfect for you. It allows you to create content that is helpful to current and future clients that summarizes your learnings into daily, weekly, or monthly articles.

From writing a book to starting a YouTube channel to speaking at events to beginning something such as the Dr. Zwig blog, do something to set your professional experience apart from others in your field.
