1. Packing Minimal:

First, plan your visit to Costa Rica. For that, you have to list all of the things you want to bring with you. Pack your belongings according to the weather in Costa Rica. With that, you can save money on flight travel. Because, if you bring more stuff, you will have to pay more to the flight company. So, stay minimal. Pack what you need like your passport, credit and debit cards, some cash, mobile and charger, toiletries, and only necessary things. You can pack your stuff in packing cubes; it saves your space in the trolley bag. If you want to buy some souvenirs from Costa Rica, then leave some room or a packing cube.

2. When to Visit Costa Rica:

You will see more tourists during the dry season(December-April); it's the most expensive month in Costa Rica. Avoid visiting during this dry season and on holidays like Christmas and New Year's Eve. The inexpensive season is the rainy season(May-November). But during summer vacation time(July and August), it may be expensive.

During less-crowded times, many hotels and restaurants will provide you with some offers and deals on their prices. If you like to travel inside Costa Rica with rental cars, then these seasons are the best to rent a car because their prices are low.

3. Save Money on Transportation:

Costa Rica has two airports, Liberia International Airport(LIR) and San Jose International Airport(SJO). Liberia International Airport is more expensive than San Jose International Airport. During the high season, tickets are expensive. But you can save money by booking budget economy tickets. It's cheap and perfect for solo travelers and those who come only on weekends. Use credit cards to book your flight as it will give you some cashback, and many credit cards will provide free lounge access(usually 1 or 2 times).

Avoid traveling in private transportation systems if you want to save some money. Travel in public buses. It will save money, and you will get to meet local people.

4. Stay on a Budget-Friendly Hotels:

You can reside in San Jose Costa Rica Hotels or Costa Rica Hotels near any airport, depending on your list of places you want to visit. Look for hotels that will give you amenities like free WIFI, coffee, hot water, iron, minibar, mountain view, etc., with a minimum budget.

Another way to save money is using your credit card points and direct booking on their website because they give offers on your tickets.

5. Tours and Activities:

Costa Rica is famous for its Volcanoes and rainforest. Check your hotels to see if they will provide tours on a low budget, or check if they have any tours or activities provided with your hotel room tickets.

Visit La Fortuna, famous for its hot springs. Although this is expensive, you can visit some free spots across the street for hot springs. You will get to parking spots near there. Many locations need guided tours, but some places you can visit without a guide, like Rio Celeste, where you can hike.

Visit the local free markets. Some parks are free to roam around, like Cahuita National Park. A town called Tico Town, where you will get to know about Costa Rica's culture if you walk around.        If you want to buy gifts for your family and friends, then buy from the local market. There you can find some cheap products with great quality.

       Only buy souvenirs from the airport. They are expensive despite getting some cute and beautiful products.
