How to Run Payroll in QuickBooks Desktop?

To fully integrate QuickBooks Desktop you must have some kind of payroll enabled.  You can purchase a subscription from Intuit if you would like, but if you want to use the free manual payroll and want to know, how to run payroll in QuickBooks Desktop? There are several methods and they are described below. 

Mentioned below are some methods to run payroll in quickbooks desktop.

1) In order to complete the integration with QuickBooks, you can send time over you need at least one payroll item. 

2) In QuickBooks there is a quick way to add one. 

3) To start, head over to Employees and after that to Employee Center. 

4) Double tap on the existing employee to edit them or add a new one.

5) After that, Hit on the Payroll Info tab. 

6) For the earnings, click on the line and select the option of Add New

 7) Here we can just add a placeholder in a payroll item setup. 

8) Also, make sure that the employee has the option of Use time data to create paychecks enabled. 

9) Now, continue with the integration. 

1) Open the Help section and Go to QuickBooks Desktop Help. 

2) Choose the Correct Help menu in order to enable the manual payroll. 

3) If your help menu looks like this, you can access the old help menu.

4) After that, disable your internet. 

5) The easiest way to do this is you have to choose Network and Internet settings

6) Tap on the Change adapter options. 

7) Right click on either your WiFi or Ethernet, and choose disable,

8) Now that the internet is disabled, go back to Help and then QuickBooks Desktop Help.

9) Now, you have to Search for Enable manual payroll and click on Process payroll manually 

10) Choose manual payroll calculations. 

11) Lastly, tap on the option of Set my company files to use manual calculations. 

12) You can ensure it is set up correctly by going to Lists and then choosing Payroll Item List.
