How to Reset your Uber Account Password through App or Website

by Lucy Smith Digital Marketing Expert

An individual mostly forgets the password, which hasn’t been used for a long time. The same thing happens with the Uber app; it only requires login when you use it for the first time. After that, just open the app and get your ride instantly. If you’ve also forgotten your Uber account password and hence unable to get your ride, then reset it right now.

Resetting Uber account password from Uber app

You can use this method in both situations when you need to change your password or reset it. And, the great thing is that you can do this right from your Uber app. Here is how.

  1. Start the ‘Uber’ app on your device.
  2. If an Uber account is already opened, then you’ll need to close it to change/reset the account password.

To close an Uber account from the app, touch the ‘Hamburger’ button, and select ‘Settings’ from the Uber menu. Then, touch ‘Sign Out’ at the end of the settings screen. This will close the opened Uber account from the app and display the sign-in form.

  1. Touch the ‘Phone number’ field and enter the number of your Uber account.
  2. Touch the right-facing ‘Arrow’ button to proceed. You’ll see the password entering field on the next screen.
  3. Leave the password field blank if you know your account password, but want to change it.
  4. Now, touch on ‘I forgot my password’ sentence underneath the password field.
  5. Enter the email address connected to your Uber account.
  6. And, touch the right-facing ‘Arrow’ button to proceed. Uber will send a message with the password reset link to your email account.
  7. Touch on ‘OK’ button to confirm that you’ve got the message. If you didn’t receive it, then touch on the ‘Resend’ button. Uber will send the message again to your entered email address.
  8. Now, open the ‘Email’ application or open the email account into a browser.
  9. Touch the message you received from Uber to open and view it. If the message doesn’t appear in the inbox, then look it in the ‘Junk’ or ‘Spam’ folder. Also, check under the ‘Updates’ folder if you’re using a Gmail account.
  10. Look for the ‘Reset your password’ link in the message and touch on it. As you’ll touch the link, Uber’s password reset page for your account will open.
  11. When prompted, allow access to your browser.
  12. Touch the first box, and type a new password minimum of five characters.
  13. Enter the same password in the second box.
  14. And, touch the right-facing ‘Arrow’ button to finish.

The password of your Uber account will be changed or reset. Now, you sign in to your Uber account with the new password.

You can reset your forgotten Uber account password from the Uber website as well. The procedure for it will be the same as the app. You’ll get a password reset link from Uber that let you set a new password for your Uber account.

  2. Touch or click the ‘Login’ option at the top right corner of the homepage.
  3. Touch or click on ‘Rider sign in’ option.
  4. Now, click the phone number field at the bottom and enter the number of your Uber account.
  5. Touch or click the right-facing ‘Arrow’ button to proceed.
  6. Now, select ‘Forgot Password.’
  7. Enter the email address connected to your Uber account.
  8. Touch or click on ‘Next.’
  9. Now, open the ‘Email’ application or open the email account into a browser.
  10. Find the message from Uber in your inbox, Junk, or Spam folder and open it.
