A single Xbox console can host multiple accounts. It has a major benefit of game sharing with friends. But sometimes you may feet the need of removing a profile from your Xbox. You may be selling your console or giving it away and want to clean it of any saved data so that the next user might not gain access to your account. Or a friend of your login to his account from your console and now you want to remove any saved profile. Anyway whatever be the reason here is how you can remove a user profile from Xbox one and Xbox 360. Note that the procedure to delete the local user account from Xbox One and Xbox 360 is slightly different, so you must check out both the process provided and follow the one suitable for you.

Effect of deleting your Xbox profile

Before you remove your Xbox profile you should understand the outcome of doing so:

Deleting the profile does not mean deleting all the data associated with your Xbox account. Anything saved to the cloud or Xbox live will still be there, and if you need to access it you just have to log in to your account from another Xbox console.

Anything on local storage though will be deleted. So if you want to keep something associated with your Xbox profile like saved games, achievements, etc,  you must back it up on Xbox live online or on the cloud.
