Rusting is a common issue on metal tiles. Rust marks can also be seen on ceramic-porcelain tiles around metal fixtures such as faucets, taps and pipes. If you have tiles used in and around your sink in your bathroom or kitchen, here is how you should remove rust stains from tiles in and around sink –

  • You can remove rusting using some common ingredients in your kitchen. These ingredients are lemon juice and salt.
  • Prepare lemon juice in a ceramic cup and add enough salt into it to prepare a thick paste.
  • Apply this paste over the rust marks.
  • Let it be there for a couple of hours.
  • For old and difficult to remove stains, you can leave it for overnight as well.
  • Rub the stains with a toothbrush or dish wash scrubbing pad (not the one with steel wires or wool).
  • Wash and rinse the tiles well after removing all the stains.
  • Repeat if required.

If that does no good, you can try removing rust marks with Baking Soda. Here is how to remove rusting with baking soda –

  • The ingredients for this trick are - baking soda and water.
  • Take both the ingredients in a large plastic or glass bowl.
  • Prepare a thick paste in toothpaste like consistency.
  • Wet the stains by spraying some water.
  • Apply the paste on the stains areas in and around the sink.
  • Leave it 7 to 8 hours.
  • Rub the stains with a non-abrasive scouring pad.
  • Wash, rinse, and dry the tiles.
  • Use a clean dry cloth to dry up the tiles.
