The design options, color variations are endless. Convenient installation is another reason that has made them a favorite amongst buyers. However, the frequently asked question is, how you prepare the floor before sticking these tiles.

Floor Preparation for Peel Tiles

There are different kinds of flooring that you can find in a household. Depending on the type of floor, the preparations also vary. Let us discuss different floor types and their preparation techniques.

Concrete Floor

The first step is to remove all the things that are on the floor. It includes any cabinets, mats, or gadgets to ensure that sticking is a perfect inch-to-inch fit. Moving forward, as it is a concrete floor, it must be smoothened and leveled. Grab a leveler and smoothen the surface. Clean it neatly so that there is no dust or dirt on the floor. After these steps, you are good to go.

The fact is that concrete floors get cracks. You need to fill these gaps precisely or replace the blocks with new ones. Furthermore, the flooring needs to be at least two months old before you install the peel tiles.

Wooden Floor

Wood has a feature that it shrinks with the temperature rise. On the contrary, the peel tiles made up of vinyl material usually expand at a higher temperature. These unlike behaviors can cause a little trouble. As it may cause bubbling or layering of the tile, giving a terrible look. To avoid this, you need to put a savior layer between the two layers. Vapor barrier films are available in the market, and you can use these to keep things in your favor.

Many experts also recommend using the impact sound insulations as they come with warranties. In the end, leveling the surface is very important in the case of wooden floors.

Tiled Floor

Now this one can be a little more challenging. The reason being, the floor is not flat. Hence, it might get challenging to stick the adhesive. The best option can be removing the existing tiles, clean the surface thoroughly, and then lay the peel tiles to get a perfect finish.

However, this can be a hectic process and causes a lot of mess! Hence, to avoid all this, get ready to work a little more. Follow the mentioned steps to install:

• Makes sure there are no cracks in the tiles

• Fill the gaps between the tiles

• Ensure that the surface is flat. If not, level it properly

• Clean thoroughly to remove all dust and dirt.

After following these steps, you can stick your peel and stick tiles, and the area will look as good as new!

Before you buy the peel tiles, you must check the floor type or the kind of surface you are putting them on. Take all necessary steps and enjoy the transformation with peel tiles.
