How to Optimize Space on MacBook?

The gradual use of a Mac can make you encounter several errors, and there are lots of ways to tackle them. One of the issues that are hard to address is of Mac storage. However, it is not an issue that cannot be tackled and below we have shared some information to resolve this issue.

Access Optimized Space

 

If you would like to access optimized space, then abide by the given steps.

§  Go to Apple button on the top left-hand side of the screen.

§  Choose the ‘About this Mac’ within the drop-down section.

§  Select the Storage button on the System Information screen.

§  Navigate to the Manage option.

 

Using Store on iCloud

 

If you wish to use Store on iCloud, then pursue the given instructions.

§  Navigate to the Apple button on the top left-hand side of the screen.

§  You should choose the ‘About this Mac’ within the drop-down section.

§  Then select the Storage button in the System Information screen.

§  Click on the Manage option.

§  Go to the ‘Sore in iCloud’ field of the screen.

§  You have to choose the ‘Store in iCloud’ tab once more to verify that you would like to automatically turn on the feature to save pictures, messages, and files in iCloud if the hard drive gets overload.

 

Prevent Syncing Documents and Desktop Folders on iCloud on MacBook 

 

If you would like to prevent syncing documents and desktop folders on iCloud on MacBook, then abide by the given steps.

§  Navigate to the Apple button on the top left-hand side of Mac’s window.

§  Then choose the System Preferences inside the drop-down section.

§  You should select the Apple ID.

§  Thereafter, choose the Options near to the iCloud Drive.

§  Uncheck the box of ‘Desktop and Documents Folder.’

 

Using the Optimize Space

 

If you wish to use optimize space, then pursue the given instructions.

§  Select the Optimize option inside the Optimize Storage field of the screen.

§  You have to choose to Optimize once more to verify that you would like to automatically turn on the feature to delete TV shows and iTunes movies that you have watched already.

 

Turn off Optimize Space on Mac 

 

If you would like to turn off optimize space on Mac, then abide by the given steps.

§  Choose the Apple button on the top left-hand side of Mac’s window.

§  You have to choose System Preferences within the drop-down section.

§  Go to the Apple ID.

§  You should untick the tick box at the lower side of the screen for Optimize Mac Storage.

 

Using Empty Trash Automatically

 

If you wish to use Empty Trash automatically, then pursue the given instructions.

§  Go to the Turn On option inside the ‘Empty Trash Automatically’ field of the Optimized Storage screen.

§  You should select once again Turn On to verify that you would like to automatically turn on the feature to clear files that have been into the Trash for more than 30 days.

 

Turn Off ‘Empty Trash Automatically’ on Mac 

 

If you would like to turn off Empty Trash Automatically on Mac, then abide by the given steps.

§  Go to the Finder screen and launch it.

§  You should select Finder in the top left-hand side of Mac’s screen.

§  Then choose Preferences into the drop-down section.

§  You have to select the Advanced option within the Finder Preferences screen.

§  Now, untick the tick box for ‘Remove items from the Trash after 30 days’.
