How to Make Notepad Black in Windows 10?

Windows 10 Notepad has several inbuilt features like a text editor, changing the dark theme and coding other files. Although it has fewer options to customize the text but is still handy nonetheless. Several users like dark theme Notepad, but unfortunately Windows Notepad does not allow officially allows the function. If you want to change your Windows 10 to use a dark theme, then you need to download a third-party application. In this blog, you can learn how.

1) Inspect the Black Notepad UWP Application
The Black Notepad Universal Windows Platform (UWP) application offers a dark theme for every text editor in Windows 10. Moreover, it is similar to the Notepad that has an alternative dark colour option. If you want to add this option on your device then tap the “Get” option on MS Store Page to add the application.
2) Adding Black Notepad Into Windows 10
Black Notepad is a third-party text editor application similar to the original Notepad. Although, Luckily it is not a mere ripoff and offers additional features too. The most important is its default theme and the user can change it with a different colour. Tapping on the alternative can show you colour options, so you can choose accordingly. User can also get the text editor by tapping on Black Notepad from the downloading centre.
3) Specify the Theme for Notepad++
Here are the steps on how to specify the theme for Notepad++:-
  1. You can also choose a dark theme for your Notepad++  to add alternative Notepad to Windows 10.
  2. To start this, tap on the Download that appears on the Download page to keep its installer.
  3. Now start the Notepad++ setting option to install into your device.
  4. Start the Notepad++ windows that appear on the list shown on your PC screen.
  5. Notepad ++ is a simple theme to keep as default.
  6. To change the theme, tap on Settings.
  7. Hit the Style Configuration and a new window will appear on the computer screen.
  8. Choose Deep Black from the menu that listed on your screen.
  9. You can also change more customized UI colours by choosing the theme in the given box.
  10. Now, Tap on the colour boxes to launch the pattern of the theme.
  11. Hit the Save and Close option.
4) Choosing Alternative Notepad or Default Text Editor
Here are the steps on how to choosing Alternative Notepad or default Text Editor:-
  1. After any one of the softer that you have done above in Windows 10.
  2. Confirm it as a default text editor.
  3. To start this, Right-tap on the text file and choose Open with.
  4. Hit Choose another application to start an open file in the Windows.
  5. Tap More application.
  6. Hit “Look for another application on this PC” when the text editor does not mention on the list.
  7. Now select the new text editor software and open it with new Windows.
  8. On the next screen new text editor list appear on the screen.
  9. Choose the new text editor.
  10. Tap on “Always use this application to open .txt files.”
  11. Hit the OK option.
